There are many signs of life now. The recent cold spell was also very dry. I decided to use some of the water from my waterbutts to moisten the ground. Then the rain came a few days later, topping them up with fresh water.
the first signs of life are appearing on the kerrier by the back door, and crocus are popping up in the front garden, along with some snowdrops.
The blackbirds have been noisier - this suggests Spring is not far off.
I've turned over the compost heaps - it's time to get more air in to help the vegetation rot and break up, Then I covered them again. Updated 11.2.06
