My name is Kate Wood and I am one of three Conservative Councillors in Wallasey Ward.  Together with my colleagues Cllr Paul Hayes and Cllr Lesley Rennie, we serve all residents and businesses throughtout the year, regardless of political views.

I was first elected to serve Wallasey ward in 1973. I was honoured to be Mayor for Wirral Council from 200 to 2001.  I was also Chairman of education from 1980 to 1986. I now serve on the Merseyside Police Authority and am a member of the Corporate Services Overview and Scriutiny Committee.

I have lived in Wallasey for over 35 years. I am activley involved with many community and voluntary groups, including Wallasey and New Brighton Forum and West Wallasey Village Residents Association. I am Chair of the West Wallasey Police Community Forum and Vice Chair of St George's School Governors.

Lesley, Paul and I are the public face of Wallasey's Conservative Action Team.  We are always keen to hear your views and ideas for improving the area.  Please visit the 'contact me' area of this site and I will try to help.
