Hello
My name is Gerry Ellis. I was elected to the Wirral council in 1998 as a Conservative member for Hoylake Ward. The boundaries were revised in 2004 and I now represent Hoylake & Meols Ward which includes a large part of central West Kirby. In May 2007 I was re-elected for a further four-year term and I am pleased to be able to continue to serve all residents of the ward regardless of political views.
I have lived in the ward for over forty years and am married with three adult children and several grandchildren who live in Taunton, Chester and Cheshire. Before retiring from business I was the managing partner of an Employment Relations consultancy business in Liverpool. I am an assistant church warden at St Bridget’s Church, West Kirby, and I am a member of a number of various organisations in the Hoylake, Meols and West Kirby areas.
I have served on most of the council’s committees and I am a former chairman of the Employment and Appointments committee. Presently I am a member of the Culture, Tourism and Leisure Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Employment Committee. Currently, I am also the chairman of the West Wirral Area Forum and a member of the Mersey Port Health Authority.
Cllr. John Hale and I are the public face of Hoylake, Meols and central West Kirby Conservative Action team. We are always keen to hear your views and any ideas you may have for improving this lovely corner of the Wirral. If you would like to get in touch to express views or to seek help on any local issues, please visit the contact area of this website and I will be happy meet you at any time.
