Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Denise Roberts and I am one of the three Labour Councillors for Claughton Ward. I have lived in Birkenhead for over 30 years and am married with two children. Apart from being a Councillor I am a volunteer with Birkenhead Citizens Advice Bureau.
I was elected to the Council in 1999 and was re-elected in May 2006. Currently I am Chair of the Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Labour Spokesperson on the Social Care, Health and Inclusion Committee,and an active member of the Licensing 2003 Committee.
I am Chair of the Bidston and Claughton Area Forum, Chair of Birkenhead District Children and Young People's Board, a Trustee of Tam O’Shanter Urban Farm, a Board member of Wirral Partnership Homes and I represent Wirral Council on Wirral the Management Committee of the Charing Cross Play and Community Centre.
I am also a Governor of Bidston Avenue and Cole Street Schools and Birkenhead Sixth Form College.
Together with my fellow Ward Councillors, George Davies and Steve Foulkes I hold regular surgeries all year round and we can always be contacted by phone, post or e-mail. Please be assured that we represent all residents regardless of political persuasion.
