About Me.
Currently I am the Deputy Leader of the Labour group, lead spokesperson on Resources Overview and Scrutiny Committee and Cabinet Audit Panel and a member of the Cabinet IT Panel. During my time as a councillor I have also been a member of the Leisure Committee, Finance Board and the Best Value Board, I chaired the latter. .
I am a governor of Holwell School in Peartree and also teacher governor at Dame Alice Owen's School.
My family and I have lived in the district for over 25 years, many of them spent in Mill Green Road until we moved to our current address in Marley Road. Both my children attended Holwell School and then onto Stanborough. My wife Carol works as a teacher at Peartree School while I teach at Dame Alice Owen's.
I have always believed in participating in the community and was treasurer of Welwyn Garden City Runners for 15 years and I am currently the treasurer of the Mid Herts Welsh Society. I am a member of the National Union teachers and I have been membership secretary for years and years.
