Congratulations you have found my personal website! I hope you like it!
I was elected as Ward Councillor in Panshanger in May 2006 and re-elected on 1st May 2008. I am the Chairman of the Cabinet Housing Panel and the Vice Chariman of the Social Overview and Scrutiny Committee. I have a special interest in young people and am hoping to become a regular at Youth Council meetings. I was also pleased to nominate Fred Houghton who won a Civic Award this year.
I have lived in Welwyn Garden City since 1990 and currently live in Haldens. I have two daughters. My eldest daughter attended Holwell Primary School where I served a term as a Parent Governor. She is now in Sixth Form at Stanborough School where she is enjoying her involvement in the life of the school and her academic studies. She has recently been appointed Head Girl of Stanborough and is a Senior Prefect. My youngest daughter attends St John's C of E Primary in Digswell where I am a Diocese appointed Foundation Governor. She also dances with Carol Allen and has just joined Haldens Rainbows.
I am a Registered Childminder and a Member of the NCMA. I am also a Governor at Springmead School in Panshanger.
As a family we attend St John's Lemsford. St John's is a beautiful church with a really welcoming and friendly congregation.
I am interested in hearing from local residents who have ideas for the Community Chest funding. I have a few of my own but would love to know what you would all like to see. It could be something simple like replacing worn out toys for a Playgroup.
You will often see me on school runs and out and about in the local area. I am always happy to stop and have a chat about anything and will do my best to help if required.
If you need to contact me about any issues please call me on 01707 892646 or my mobile on 07804 139520. You can use the Contact form on this website or email me on sara.johnston@welhat.gov.uk
