I was elected as Councillor on Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council to represent all the residents of Northaw Ward and as a resident of Cuffley for over 47 years, during which time my wife and I have raised a family, I consider that I am in a good position to understand their needs and concerns.

My particular interest and involvement is in environmental matters which affect our everyday lives.I have seen many changes over the years, not always for the better, and I consider it is the duty of my colleagues and myself to try to maintain the quality of life that attracted us to the locality in the first place as Vice Chairman of the Borough's Planning Control Committee I have a particular opportunity to influence decisions.

I am also a member of various Borough Council Committees and the Chairman of the Audit Committee.

By profession I am a Chartered Surveyor and quite apart from the Borough Council my interests include the Parish Council (where I have been a member for many years) I am Chairman of the trustees of a retirement home which is a charity providing accommodation for about 20 elderly residents. I am also a director of The Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust whose title is self explanatory.
