With thanks to the residents of Hatfield East Ward I was elected to the then Welwyn Hatfield District Council in 2000 and re-elected in 2008.
Laraine and I married in 1966 and came to Hatfield in 1967, we have four daughters all of whom were educated at Howe Dell J. M. I. and Bishops Hatfield Girls School. I am a member of the local Rotary Club and have been a Town Councillor and School Governor.
I became a councillor because I have enjoyed living in Hatfield for over the 40 years and I wanted to help the local community.
I Chair the Resource Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Conservative Group. I am a member of Cabinet I.T. Panel and sit on various other committees.
When people have asked me for help. and have said “I know your not my ward councillor” I have told them that “I am a Welwyn Hatfield Borough Councillor so it doesn’t matter what ward you live in I will do my best to help”.
Why not come to one of the Resource Overview and Scrutiny Committee and see how the committee works.

Welwyn Hatfield Community Chest
Welwyn Hatfield Community Chest has been created to empower local councillors and their communities to identify and then seek funding for small ward-based improvements. It does this by:
· Helping to clarify and agree the local priorities, issues, needs and aspirations of our local wards;
· Reflecting the aims of residents and other key partners such as Town and Parish Councils, Community Associations and other voluntary groups;
· Encouraging councillors and residents to work together to meet local needs and to enhance local quality of life; and
· Creating an innovative councillor-led approach to funding important local projects which is both fair and transparent to all.
If you are a resident in the Hatfield East Ward and you have any ideas that may help improve the ward please contact me
Parking
One of the main issue in Hatfield East Ward is parking. For the people of Old Hatfield I hope to bring you good news in the near future.
