Neighbourhood Forums
There will be a further neighbourhood forum on the 18th February at the Gayton Road community centre, covering the communities of Tantany, Hateley Heath and Black Lake.
These neighbourhood forums are very informal and are open to the whole community. They give local people an opportunity to tell the police, the town team and Sandwell Homes directly of their paticular experience of the area.
These experiences might be in regard to fly-tipping, litter problems in general, anti-social behaviour, criminal activity as well as many other concerns that people experience in their communities. These meetings have enabled people to get answers to questions as to why things are done in a particular way, as well as have their personal say on how local problems affect their lives.
If you have any issues or incidents which you would like to raise, but are unable to attend, please email or phone me and I will raise them on your behalf.
The 640 Bus.
A number of people have expressed concern about the loss of the number 640 bus. I have taken up consitituents enquiries and been told that this service is being taken over by another bus company and will continue to run the same route.
If anyone is experiencing problems with the changes please let me know and I will follow them up with the bus company on your behalf.
Dog Fouling
Constituents have reported an increase in dog fouling in the area. I have taken up the issue with the local dog wardens and they have promised to visit any areas affected to discourage abuse. Any consitituents aware of dog fouling nuisance can email or phone me on 0772 405686/0121 420 1519 and I will gladly pass on any areas of concern.
Youth Clubs
Gayton Road Community centre
A youth club will be commencing at Gayton Road Community centre shortly (before March 2008). Residents who are affected by nuisance as a result should report their concerns as the police have promised extra vigilance in the intial setting up to minimise disruption to local residents whilst the service settles down.
Hateley Heath Primary School
I am looking into the promises made of a youth club at Hateley Heath primary school, which has been ongoing some time, and will report what is planned for the area.
