Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.
My new email address is currently ydavies16@btinternet.com. Everyone is welcome to contact me via email and I will respond as soon as I possibly can.
(People have asked if I am standing down, but I can promise the people of Hateley Heath that I intend to be around, as long as people are willing to support me. (Each area has three local councillors to represent it and Paul will replace Joanne Watson, if successful in the local election. The third Councillor is Terry Williams who left the Labour party to become independent a year ago.))
I am still chief executive of Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau and work full time. This does mean that often I am in work during the day and out at meetings at night. Please don't be put off from leaving a message on my answer machine, mobile or even sending an email. I will return your call as soon as I possibly can.
I thoroughly enjoy working for people in the area to get solutions that meet their needs. Whilst it is sometimes difficult, I can promise you I will work hard to ensure the best possible result is obtained. See my short casestudies for the type of problem residents of Hateley Heath have asked for my assistance with.
I positively welcome contact from all residents of the area.€ I promise I will work hard to try and resolve any difficulties you may be experiencing or raise the issues that are important to you.
Current responsibilities
I am part of Sandwell's Planning Committee.
- This meets monthly to consider all planning applications in Sandwell and is a non-political, quasi judicial function. The best way for people to find out about their application is through the planning officers. If I can be of assistance I will, but if I am approached by individual's to support their planning application, I have to declare an interest at the committee and can take no part in the decision making. People may want to decide which way of seeking additional support is in their best interests.
I am also part of Joint Consultative Panel.
- This meets every two months with Sandwell's trades unions to discuss future developments and improvements in services that are delivered. This can be a lively panel which looks closely at the ways we try to improve services from the employer and employee perspective.
I am also the current Chair of Sandwell's Audit Committee.
- This Committee looks at financial (and other planning) to ensure the Council's services are taking account of risks, looking to maximise efficiencies and operating as effectively as possible, as well as representing good value for money.

Recent casework successes
I am contacted by constituents to help them with their difficulties and always try to do my best. To encourage people to contact me, I have given some examples of where I have been able to make a difference.
