Representing the people of Hateley Heath.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

My new email address is currently ydavies16@btinternet.com.  Everyone is welcome to contact me via email and I will respond as soon as I possibly can.

I am still chief executive of Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau and work full time.  This does mean that often I am in work during the day and out at meetings at night.  Please don't be put off from leaving a message on my answer machine, mobile or even sending an email.   I will return your call as soon as I possibly can.

I thoroughly enjoy working for people in the area to get solutions that meet their needs.  Whilst it is sometimes difficult, I can promise you I will work hard to ensure the best possible result is obtained. See my short casestudies for the type of problem residents of Hateley Heath have asked for my assistance with.

I positively welcome contact from all residents of the area.

I promise I will work hard to try and resolve any difficulties you may be experiencing or raise the issues that are important to you.

Current responsibilities

I was appointed The Lead Town Member for West Bromwich last May and have very much enjoyed this role.

As the chair of West Bromwich Town Committe I attend 'Town Tasking' every two weeks.  This a group made from the police, the anti-social behaviour team, town team, sandwell homes and many other partners.  This group comes together fortnightly to examine the current problems in the town which can be diverse - from crime, anti-social behaviour, youth issues and even fly tipping and general litter issues.  We seek to resolve issues jointly using all of the services working together and to act as quickly as possible. The group has achieved great success and is seen to be highly effective in dealing sensibly with the problems that areas face from the problems that arise from time to time.

I am part of Joint Consultative Panel.

- This meets every two months with Sandwell's trades unions to discuss future developments and improvements in services that are delivered.  This can be a lively panel which looks closely at the ways we try to improve services from the employer and employee perspective.

I am also a member of the Standards Committee  which oversees looks at complaints about councillor's behaviour or actions.  This Committee has two sub-committees which look at detailed cases and make recommendations for action if appropriate.

You can follow this link for more information on the functions of the Standards Committee.
