On Thursday 10th April a public meeting is taking place at Manor High School in Friar Park Road to discuss the rebuilding of the school using Government money from the Buiding Schools for the Future programme. This will completely transform the look and feel of the school and so I would urge all residents in the area to get to the meeting which starts at 6.00pm.

I am delighted that a pilot scheme organised through Street Games (a national body which seeks to provide sport on estates) as started. The pilot scheme began in January and will finish in August/September when it is hoped more long term funding will be found. A number of sporting activities are to be part of the scheme. During the past several months I have been spending a lot more time at home with my two youngest both under 3. This has been exhausting but very rewarding and I will miss them both when I do return to full time work. What made this time more enjoyable was the excellent playgroups at the Priory Family Centre provided through Sure Start. When posible I attended both the Tuesday afternoon Play and Stay and the Fathers Group on a Thursday evening. Both my daughters loved these sessions and it gave me quality time with my girls. I would recommend these sessions and others provided by Sure Start to all parents and grandparents in the area.
