Wood Green Cemetery Cleaned Up
After years of complaining that Wood Green Cemetery was an insult to the young soldiers who are buried there to the point of contacting the War Graves Commission, the cemetery is now been given a face lift by our Ground Care Department. Broken stones are to be tidied up, grass to cut and pathways to graves cleared out. Lets hope that once this has been completed that the cemetery will have ongoing maintenance to keep it presentable and give respect to our dead ancestors.
£200 Charges Dropped
I instigated a petition for residents in council run flats and maisonettes against the £200 charge for installation of digital arials, which was unreasonable and definitely unaffordable to them. It appears that the council have now not to go ahead with these charges.
SPEED LIMIT BY SCHOOL
At last we will be having a 20mph speed limit outside St. Mary's Junior School, Manor House Road,Wednesbury. I have campaigned that it has been dangerous for children to cross this road because of speeding cars but, next month, the council are erecting speed signs stating that 20m.p.h. limit is now in force.
