Welcome to my website

I have now been your Councillor for the past 6 years and have met a lot of residents.  Problems ranging from health, anti-social behaviour, housing, travel and personal matters have been dealt with. Community wise I have arranged for new bus shelters in Wednesbury, for Ring & Ride to accommodate more users, helped save the Sons of Rest from closure, brought many improvements to Brunswick Park (with the long awaited Skate Board park now completed).  I also belong to many community groups and helped Wednesbury 2000 with their successful lottery bid so that we can provide community facilities for you all.

If there is anything further I can do to improve my service to you.  Please contact me by e-mail mavishughes556@yahoo.co.uk , telephone or call in at my surgery every Friday at Wednesbury Library 11.00a.m. till 12.00p.m.

Wood Green Cemetery Cleaned Up
After years of complaining that Wood Green Cemetery was an insult to the young soldiers who are buried there to the point of contacting the War Graves Commission, the cemetery is now been given a face lift by our Ground Care Department. Broken stones are to be tidied up, grass to cut and pathways to graves cleared out. Lets hope that once this has been completed that the cemetery will have ongoing maintenance to keep it presentable and give respect to our dead ancestors.

£200 Charges Dropped
I instigated a petition for residents in council run flats and maisonettes against the £200 charge for installation of digital arials, which was unreasonable and definitely unaffordable to them. It appears that the council have now not to go ahead with these charges.
