It is with great sadness that I must report to the death of my colleague Councillor Martyn Smith. Martyn has represented Newton Ward for over 25 years and was a respected member of Sandwell Council and will be missed by many people.
Martyn was very much the catalyst for my self and my wife getting involved with the local party and it was he who persuaded me to stand as a Liberal candidate in recent elections.
Our thoughts go out to his wife and fellow Councillor Sadie Smith during this sad time
