Fifty years of Salford's musical past is to be celebrated at a new exhibition where previously unseen items will be on show - including a guitar used by New Order's Peter Hook and artwork from the Ting Tings 2007 tour.

16/11/2007 -  Harrop Fold School taken out of special measures 
Following a full OFSTED inspection this week led by Jane Jones, HMI Harrop Fold School has been judged to be providing a satisfactory standard of education, and therefore the special measures designation no longer applies, and the school does not require any further OFSTED cause for concern category.

As a Governor at the school I am delighted with the news, and wish to congratulate the staff and children for all their hard work.

Ruth Kelly the Education Secretary announced today the building of a new Catholic primary school in Little Hulton.
