About Me

QUESTION AND ANSWERS ABOUT ME!

WHERE AND WHEN WERE YOU BORN?

I was born on the 15/3/59 at home, which was 43 Turner Street, Higher Broughton Salford 7.

WHERE WERE YOU EDUCATED?

I attended St.James Primary School Great Cheetham St and North Salford Boys School(which later amalgamated with North Salford Girls to become North Salford High) Leicester Rd.

I then attended Manchester College of Building for 5 years to get my professional qualifications.

FAMILY

I have one son, two daughters and four grandchildren, all of whom I adore.

HOBBIES

Manchester United, Salford City Reds & Lancashire County Cricket. I am also a member of CAMRA and applaud their work on keeping real ale going in the pubs in Greater Manchester.I like art and visit galleries whenever I can. My favourite artist is Francis Bacon. To relax I love nothing better than putting in my earphones and setting my iPod to shuffle and shutting out the world.

WHY POLITICS?

Lived in Salford all my life and wanted to put something back into the city I love. Lots of other political reasons too, that I can't go into as they would be banned from this website!!!

I also had a great teacher at North Salford High called Mrs Walsh who taught Social Studies and really got me into reading and studying politics and modern history. I have a lot to thank her for.

SALFORD CITY COUNCIL

I have now been a Councillor for 17 years, for 14 of those years I represented Pendleton Ward, then through boundary changes I have come to be a Councillor for the new Langworthy Ward (re-elected 4/5/06 for a further 4 years). I'm proud to represent the area which is going through some hard times with the regeneration agenda, but the future is looking good and the area is becoming stable again. But most of all I love working with the community in Langworthy, good down-to-earth Salford people. I look forward to the next four years.
