Councillor John Warmisham has been on Salford city council since 1991. He represented Pendleton ward until 2004. Then due to boundary changes to the wards in Salford he moved to represent the people of Langworthy Ward.
John is lead member for Children’s Services and Youth issues, this includes child protection, looked after children, education and the youth service.
Having been born and living in Salford all his life, John is a proud Salfordian. He became a councillor to put something back into the city he loves and to represent his fellow Salfordians.
His passions in life are his Grandchildren, Manchester United, Salford Reds and Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Salford is celebrating another bumper year for GCSEs with provisional results showing that almost 68% of pupils in the city have achieved 5 A*-C grades, an increase of eight percentage points on last year.
