I have been fortunate enough to represent North Ward (New England and Bluebell) since May 2000. I intend to use this site to keep you, the electorate, up to speed with things relevant to the Ward.
I am not a member of any Party political group. However as I believe all political parties have something to offer, I have included links to a number of the parties under "My Politics".
I was born in Peterborough and lived in Millfield, until 1980, when I then moved into the North Ward in Coleridge Place, (near Fulbridge School). At present, I am the Group Secretary of the Minority Parties Group on the City Council and sit on the Council's Audit Committee & Health Scrutiny and Overview as group representative, I am also sub on the Standards Committee, Scrutiny Committee & Planning Committee, as well as being on various Sub groups. I work closely with Councillor Swift - the other North Ward Councillor who is also a Member of the Minority Parties Group. I have been involved in Council work since 1978, when I was elected to represent Central Ward and did so until 1982. I continued by working with Residents Associations' in the city until 2000 and chaired the Fulbridge Residents Association for three years, as well as working closely with Bluebell and New England Resident Groups. I am a School Governor at Fulbridge School and John Mansfield School and a Trustee at Millfield Community Association. I chair the Good Neighbour Advisory Board - a group offering help and support to people in need, throughout the area. The Greater Dogsthorpe Partnership has just started and I along with Charles serve on the board.
