Hello, and thank you for taking the time to visit my web page, which I hope you will find interesting and informative. I am very pleased to have this web site because I hope it will be a convenient way for you to see how I am representing you at the city council and for you to contact me.
I have been very lucky to represent the villages of Ashton
,
Bainton,

Barnack,

Helpston,

St Martins Without,

Pilsgate
,
Ufford,
Southorpe
and
Wothorpe,
which make up Barnack Ward, for ten years. Since then there have been a number of changes, and challenges, but essentially, the area remains a very pleasant and rural area.
My family and I have lived in Peterborough for 25 years and both my children were born here. During that time I have taught in both a city school and a rural college . Consequently, I have developed a major interest in education provision in the city and the hard work that has gone into raising pupils' examination results. I have been very keen to see a university set up in Peterborough.http://www.thelearningcity.co.uk/
During the last 10 years I have also become involved with the NHS. I am particularly keen to see Peterborough services run from the city and not from some remote town. The 'overlap' between city services and health is great and much more joint working can be achieved.http://www.peterborough.nhs.uk
One of the major changes to the ward has been a change in the nature of village life. Leisure and pastimes are becoming more important. John Clare cottage has recently been purchased for education and cultural use. http://www.johnclare.org.ukThe Land Dyke Trust is a national leader in environment work and you can't help noticing cyclists and horse riders at the week end.
I visit one or more of the villages every Saturday. I hope to meet as many of you as possible either at a week end or during one of the many village events.
