Peter Kelly biography
Peter is married to Pauline and they have one daughter Clodagh. Born into a strongly republican family, peters brother Pasty was killed by loyalist in the 1970s. At the time of his death Patsy was a nationalist councillor on Omagh District council.
As Chairperson of the Agriculture Sub-Committee on Omagh District Council, Peter has championed the plight of small farmers and campaigned on a wide range of rural issues. He has also successfully lobbied for the local play Area and for recycling facilities for the area.
Recently Peter has received confirmation that Trillick is set to benefit from a new doctors surgery in Trillick. Pater had been in active in the campaign to deliver this which included delivered a petition on behalf of the people of Trilick to the Western Health Board and meeting the direct rule health minister (in 2006) alongside MP for the area, Pat Doherty.
Kelly welcomes Trillick Surgery progress
Sinn Féin Councillor Peter Kelly has welcomed the news that a planning application has now been submitted for the conversion of the building at the rear of Trillick Enterprise Centre for the village's new GP Surgery and that the premises are on schedule to become operational in early 2009.
Kelly pays tribute to staff of Trillick Primary School
Trillick Councillor Peter Kelly has expressed disappointment that Trillick Primary will close its doors at the end of August. It was one of twelve schools across the North selected to close due to falling enrolments.
