Logo of Omagh District CouncilWelcome to my website. I am Clive McFarland, DUP Councillor for Omagh Town - part of Omagh District Council. Omagh Town takes in most of the urban area of Omagh and includes the wards of Camowen, Coolnagard, Dergmoney, Drumragh, Gortrush, Lisanelly and Strule. If you are unsure as to which ward you live in then click on the name of each ward to see a list of the streets within them.

I will be using this site to keep you informed about my work, and to provide you with information about developments at Omagh District Council.

I was elected in 2005 and have been involved in activities across all areas of the Council's work. Whilst sitting on all the main Council Committees I have also served as:

  • Vice Chairman of the Council: June 07- June 08
  • Chairman of Development Committee: June 06 - June 07
  • Chairman of Omagh Sports Forum: May 07 - May 08
  • Member of the District Policing Partnership: 05 - 07
  • Member of Strule Arts Centre management Board
  • Chairman of the Strule Arts Centre management board: June 09 - Present
  • Committee Member of the Hospital Road Community Association
  • Vice-Chairman of the Hospital Road Interagency Group

Whilst I have interests in issues across the range of services provided by the Council I feel that every ratepayer deserves to get the best possible value from their Council at the lowest possible cost. Everything provided by the Council is ultimately financed by ratepayers in the District and that is why I have included a section on waste management and recycling showing how this issue can not just help help the environment but save the pound in your pocket too!

This website isn't here for political campaigning so I will attempt to use it in order to highlight the work carried out by Councillors, and the work of the Council as a body. I'm here to represent everyone in the District, regardless of political persuasion.

For any local representative it is important to hear the views of local people. If you click on the 'Contact Me' button you can use the online form to leave your comments. My postal address and phone number are also listed there.
