Welcome to my personal councillor website.
I am Councillor Tom Campbell, the Alliance Party elected member for the electoral ward of Antrim Line - part of Newtownabbey Borough Council.This includes Collinbridge, Ballyhenry, Burnthill, Glebe, Glengormley, Hightown, Mallusk .
I was elected to represent this area in 2005. Previous to this, I was a Belfast City Councillor for 12 years before moving with my family to live in Newtownabbey.
I am one of three Alliance Councillors on the Council, the others being Councillor Lynn Frazer ( University Ward) and Councillor Billy Webb (Macedon Ward). The Newtownabbey area is also represented at Assembly level by my colleagues David Ford MLA (South Antrim) and Sean Neeson MLA (East Antrim).
I am a Solicitor by profession and live in the Jordanstown area. I hold dual membership of the Alliance Party and the Liberal Democrats. I have always sought to represent anyone who comes to me regardless of political opinion or creed.
I am currently chairman of Newtownabbey District Policing Partnership Board which holds regular public meetings throughout the borough on policing matters. In the Council, I am Chairman of the Policy and Governance Committee and a member of the Environment and Planning and Consultation Committees.
I will be using this site to keep you informed about my work, and to provide you with information about developments at Newtownabbey Borough Council.
As this website has been established with funding from the e-Government Fund programme, it is not appropriate for me to use it for the purposes of political campaigning.
However, there is a ‘My Politics’ link in the toolbar on the left-hand side of this website, and I have used this to link to political sites that I think are of interest.
