The website of Councillor Billy Webb

Welcome to my personal councillor website. I am Billy Webb Alliance Party Councillor on Newtownabbey Borough Council for the electoral ward of Macedon. Macedon covers the areas of Rathfern, Rathcoole, Fernagh, Abbots Cross, Merville Garden Village, Longlands, Bawnmore and from Dillon's Avenue in Whiteabbey to below the Hillside Nursery, on the Doagh Road, towards the M2 motorway and down to the Shore Road.

I have been a Councillor since 1997 and held the position of Deputy Mayor in 2000/01.  I serve on all main committees in Council, the Community Safety Partnership, the Good Relations Partnership and the Newtownabbey District Policing Partnership.

I am also a member of many voluntary and community groups including Chair of Newtownabbey Citizens Advice Bureau, Rathcoole Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership, Mill Green Youth Centre and Rathcoole Community Empowerment Partnership.  I have the privilage of serving on the Council of Management of the Northern Ireland Hospice, I am a non-Executive Director of Mallusk Enterprise Park and a Governor of Newtownabbey Community High School.

I will be using this site to keep you informed about my work, and to provide you with information about developments at Newtownabbey Borough Council.

This website has been provided to help me in my work as a councillor – to help me communicate with all residents of Macedon, regardless of their political persuasion. It has been provided to help improve the quality of communication between Councillors and the people that they represent. This website has been established with funding from the e-Government Fund programme.

There is a ‘My Politics’ link in the toolbar on the left-hand side of this website, and I may use that to link to political sites that I think are of interest.

I hope that you will feel free to use the ‘Contact Me’ button in the toolbar on the left of this site to let me know your views on any important upcoming business that the council is involved in. I’d also be interested to hear how you’d like me to use this website – and other internet tools to improve the way that important local issues are communicated to you.

With best wishes

Councillor Billy Webb
