I have been involved in local politics for nearly thirty years and have been a councillor for nine of those years: in two stints. I believe the essence of being a good and effective councillor is to be available. With that in mind I do my very best to attend all variety of meetings, my surgeries, and through one-to-one chats. I give out my two telephone numbers, in addition to my email and web-site addresses. I will also visit residents who requests it when it will be helpful to do so. It is sometimes useful to see residents in the Town Hall, or on site in the ward. The choice is yours.
I am a regular speaker on local radio and I write to, and am reported in, the Evening Gazette. I believe that it is important to continually advance the causes of Middlehaven and its residents in particular.
I hold the view that cooperation is better than unnecessary confrontation. I have found that the vast majority of people with whom I speak, and who live in the ward, think likewise.
