Alleygates

You will notice that I have added a sub page here on conservation & litter.

Alleygates - their installation and sitings are still causing problems for those who objected to them from the outset.I have reported areas where the ingress is inadequate to protect unauthorised entry and hopefully a remedy will be forthcoming. The "noise" aspect of clanging gates and the danger to hands and fingers from the "kick back" again have been forwarded to those charged with their maintenance and inother instances I am trying where possible to reach compromise situations for those most seriously affected by their appearance in the Ward. Please contact me if you need help with negotiations. For those still awaiting gates please try to keep a diary of ALL CRIMINAL activity in th area, including fly tipping and WRITE individual letters to the Council.

Two areas are due to be the subject of planning applications: the top and bottom areas of Rockliffe, where chains are being considered necessary for the proper security of the gated sections.Litter, furniture and other oddments are still being deposited in back alleys. There is a junk service for the disposal of such items. Please ring the Contact Centre to book a removal day and time. Also, alleygates are only as effective as their regular, secure usage. Please keep them locked when not in use! Thank you.
