After an all out attempt by myself, The Chairman and secretary of The friends of Westbourne Park, concerned residents in Rockliffe and WHINNEY BANKS to oppose and STOP the CONSTRUCTION of a DESIGNER ROUNDABOUT on ACKLAM RD. encroaching onto WESTBOURNE Park, we lost. The roundabout will go ahead. Construction to start early OCTOBER for 20 WEEKS!!! Those of you living nearest: ie. Westbourne, Hambledon, Oxford and Fairfield Rds., PLEASE inform me of any increased traffic and problems in your area.I stressed that RATRUNS would probably ensue, so I need your comments asap. Thank you.

The consultation  period for the Local Development Core Strategy and Plan is still currently underway. Copies can be viewed in Libraries and at The Council. Make sure your input counts in time! Developers are after MORE OPEN GREEN SPACES for building;at: Ladgate Lane Police HQ;Stainton and between Poole Hospital and Nunthorpe.Please see the plans asap and COMMENT URGENTLY before it is too late!! BEST EVER GCSE RESULTS FOR MIDDLESBROUGH
Results for Middlesbrough’s young people in their GCSE results have continued to improve according to figures released today (10/01/08). The final figures for exams taken in 2007 show that almost 54 per cent of young people taking the exams in Middlesbrough achieved five or more A* to C grades, continuing the upward trend shown in the previous year’s figures.
