As a Middlesbrough Borough Councillor and one of the representatives of the Brookfield Ward I have many duties to perform, not just to the residents of Brookfield, but also to the Town as a whole.
As you can see from the numerous Committees and Boards on which I sit there is a great deal of work that goes unseen by the general public. On top of this there is also the Community and Youth Councils, which I am obliged to attend, and to advise, help and support on a regular basis.
My primary care and responsibility is to the residents of the Brookfield Ward, and I am mindful at all times of their concerns and aspirations. To this end I have set myself a program of objectives which I hope to accomplish in my first year as a Councillor. One I have accomplished already is to set up the very first Councillor Web Site in Middlesbrough which has been up and running since June 2003. You can access it on my Welcome page. The present site owes a lot to my original site and I hope you will use it to keep abreast of events in the Ward.
My aim is to see that the roads and avenues of Brookfield are kept clean and litter free; that the infrastructure of the Ward is well maintained and should also remain a safe and carefree place for Children and the Aged to enjoy without fear or intimidation. It will be an area in which all residents can have pride and pleasure in. I look forward to the next three and a half years with hope and anticipation that I will accomplish those promises I made to you in my election statement.
George.
