Carbon Foot Print

Everyone is on about it, always in the news and all Councils are telling you about cutting your carbon foot print.

Well before I wave the finger at you telling you what you should do, its only fair that I tell you what I have done to reduce mine.....

Last year we installed double glazing throughout the house complying with building regulations. This has resulted in us turning down our thermostat on the boiler, the house is much warmer now. Last year I replaced as many as possible of our tungsten light bulbs (incidently see my poll on whether we should keep tungsten or have low energy light bulbs) that's 25 in total. I still have some tungsten bulbs in the house.

I recycle as much as possible and I'm teaching our two children to do so as well. Our rubbish has reduced considerably.

Last year I was made redundant and I had to find another job of which I did in London and I now travel by train thus resulting in me not using my car and saving 6,500 miles.

We're still learning on what else we can do and are open to suggestions..
