Waste Plan With other local councillors I have continued to oppose the waste plan. Unfortunately all our efforts have failed to change the decisions of Government, East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council to burn a large proportion of our waste and to do so in Newhaven. Interestingly the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office is not interested in becoming involved because they do not consider the Plan is controversial enough (over 30,000 letters of objections to the Plan and the proposed modifications!)
Planning application for an incinerator and the application by Onyx for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control permission Again, with other local councillors I continue to oppose both applications for an incinerator at Newhaven using every legal means to try to get the applications rejected.
