Bienvenue/ Willkommen / 歡迎 / Welcome to my website.
I am Councillor Andy Wilson, one of two Ulster Unionist Party elected members (along with Ald. Roy Beggs Snr) for the district electoral area (DEA) of Larne Lough – the southern part of the borough of Larne. This mainly rural DEA stretches from the western suburbs of Larne town itself right out to Islandmagee, Ballycarry, Raloo, and Ballyboley. It covers Kilwaughter, Millbrook, Mounthill, Glenoe, Magheramorne, the Glynn and all points in between.
I will be using this website to keep you informed about my work as a public representative, to provide you with information about local issues, and to hopefully increase understanding of what a local councillor does.
I hope to use this site to communicate with all residents of Larne Borough, regardless of their political persuasion. It has been provided to help improve the quality of communication between councillors and the people that they represent. As this website has been established with funding from the e-Government Fund programme, it is not appropriate for me to use it for the purposes of political campaigning. In any case party politics is not what local government should be about.
I am however, proud to be a member of Northern Ireland’s founding political organization- The Ulster Unionist Party, and there is a ‘My Politics’ link in the toolbar on the left-hand side of this website to the party’s website. You will also find links to other political sites that I think would be of interest to you.
If you are a Larne resident, feel free to use the ‘Contact Me’ button in the toolbar on the left of this site to let me know your views on any important upcoming business that the council is involved in. I’d also be interested to hear how you’d like me to use this website – and other internet tools to improve the way that important local issues are communicated to you.
Best wishes/ z poważaniem/ beste tel/ 最好祝愿 ,
Andy Wilson
