West Lancs Borough Council declares zero rise, following a zero rise at LCC, 1.8% for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and 2.95% at Lancashire Police.
The only shool in Lancashire to have won this award, and has been selected to go forward for the UK Rolls Royce Science Prize.

Following completion of the Town Centre "uplift", I was delighted to attend the Burscough Town Centre Celebration Tour on Nov. 24th., headed by the Chairman of West Lancs District Council, Cllr. Cyril Ainscough.The research and resulting artwork to round off the scheme were explained at length and the project has scooped two national awards. A credit to WLDC!

Three primary schools in my division --Burscough Bridge Methodist, St. Mark's C oe E and Pinfold Primary have been wrongly claimed to be under threat of closure in the local press by Rosie Cooper, MP for West Lancs.

Covers School Lane from the A59 to the vicinity of Haydock Farm and Colbourne Close. This is one of the first 20 mph zones in Lancashire.There has been much consultation with residents and the Parish Council on this with public approval. I was pleased to support it.
Approved at the Lancashire Local on July 22nd.and funded by Tesco. Dropped kerbs at at the road to the Rail Interchange for the disabled. This will assist residents from the northern part of Burscoughas well as users of the "Grove" accessing Tescos and shops and businesses in the towncentre.
Considerable investment continues and flooding of sewage in New Lane and other places have been reduced. But there are still problems and meetings with UU are continuing.
Residents will benefit from this new crossing between Red Cat Lane and Warper's Moss Lane.
Remedial works, prompted by accident records over the past 5 years,have been carried out in 2008/9 from the Beaufort Hotel to the Morris Dancers (Burscough and Scarisbrick).

Treatment to improve the road surface in late 2006 was carried out. Results not entirely satisfactory.Site Meeting resulted in a new footpath from Southport Road to the National Services Club and promise of leveling perhaps once a year.
