Planning Applications

The County Council's Environment Directorate Development Control Group processes planning applications for mining, quarrying and waste management sites, and also for all County Council developments such as schools, libraries and highways.

These are sometines very controversial and residents want to make representations to me and other County Councillors for, or usually against such proposals. This site allows you to see the applications and to also support or oppose them electronically. There is a link built in to this site to make sure I get a copy of your representations. If you want me to send them to other County Councillors just say so. I do not sit on the Development Control Committee, but you can find out who does through this website. Just go to the website below and then look for the Development Control Committee underlined in the middle of the paragraph. From Burnley Marcus Johnstone, John Cavanagh and Steve Large sit on the DC Committee.

If you are interested in finding out more about planning applications in your area you can go to the Environment Directorate section of the County Council's website which is updated daily. To access the website please click here.
