Hello and welcome to my website. I hope you find it interesting!
I have been elected as a County Councillor for the Electoral Division of Burnley Central West to serve the interests of all residents, regardless of political persuasion. I am, however, a member of the Labour Party and the Co-operative Party which are political party's and I take an active interest in a number of national and local campaigns. It would not be appropriate for me to use this website to promote these campaigns though you can visit some of these sites by clicking on the "My Politics" button on the left hand side of the screen.
There are 6 County Councillors for Burnley, and we deal with Education, Social Services, Highways and Transportation, Strategic Planning and Waste Management matters. Our members also sit on the Lancashire Police Authority and on Lancashire Fire & Rescue Authority, and we play our part in many, many partnerships throughout and beyond Lancashire. I am the Cabinet Member for Resources.
County Council elections are every 4 years and the next is in 2009.
