Help Direct - Safe Trader Scheme in partnership with Lancashire County Council Trading Standards

Help Direct's Safe Trader Scheme is funded by Lancashire County Council and managed by Lancashire Trading Standards Service.  The service aims to help citizens of Lancashire find a reliable trader, as well as supporting local businesses.

All members of the Safe Trader Scheme have met minimum requirements, set out by the Trading Standards Service and have all committed to adhere to a Code of Practice.  Not only does this give you added peace of mind when choosing a trader, but the support of Lancashire Trading Standards Service also means that there's someone to help if things don't go to plan!  To find out more about the service, please click on the link below.

Welcome from County Councillor Sam Chapman

I am the County Councillor elected by the people of the Chorley South division of Lancashire County Council. This website is provided by Lancashire County Council, and it is not appropriate to spend the taxpayer's money to advance a particular political cause or point of view, so this is not a political site. However, many of the reasons I stood for the Council, and that people voted for me, are to do with believing that we would be better governed under one political arrangement than any of the alternatives. For that reason I maintain a separate website at www.samchapman.com which I update on a more regular basis, and where neither myself or my visitors need to worry about any content being excluded on the basis that it might be considered to be too political.
