Help Direct - Safe Trader Scheme in partnership with Lancashire County Council Trading Standards

Help Direct's Safe Trader Scheme is funded by Lancashire County Council and managed by Lancashire Trading Standards Service.  The service aims to help citizens of Lancashire find a reliable trader, as well as supporting local businesses.

All members of the Safe Trader Scheme have met minimum requirements, set out by the Trading Standards Service and have all committed to adhere to a Code of Practice.  Not only does this give you added peace of mind when choosing a trader, but the support of Lancashire Trading Standards Service also means that there's someone to help if things don't go to plan!  To find out more about the service, please click on the link below.

Welcome from County Councillor Pat Case

Heath Charnock

I was re-elected in June2009 , as a Conservative to serve as the County Councillor for the Electoral Division of Chorley Rural East which includes the town of  Adlington and the villages of Rivington, Heath Charnock, Anderton, White Coppice, Wheelton, Anglezarke, Heapey, Withnell and Brinscall, a beautiful part of Lancashire. I also represent Heath Charnock and Rivington on the Chorley Borough Council.

I am here to serve all your interests irrespective of political conviction and I hope in the last 29 years as your councillor, I have always done so. The needs of rural areas are very specific and I am pleased to be able to represent those needs

I have been a member of the Conservative Party since I left the University and became at 23 a member of Turton Urban District Council.  I stood as a Conservative in a Parliamentary election and served in the party organisation in the women's section and in the local government councillors association at national level.

These are the committees and sub committees I sit on:

·        Education Scrutiny Committee (Deputy Chair)

·        Student Support Appeals Committee (Deputy Chair)

·        County Council

I have a special personal interest in services for people especially children with learning difficulties and take an active part in a number of national and local organisations established to help them which you can also access through links on this site.

My main interests in local government are in the field of education and social care. I am fortunate to be on the national Local Government Association's Children and Young People Board.
