I am the County Councillor for the electoral division of Chorley North which covers the communities of Astley Village, Buckshaw Village, Euxton North and  Clayton & Whittle. I am the elected representative for this area until May 2013.

As your County Councillor I will endeavour to serve the interests of all residents, regardless of political persuasion. Lancashire's MYP's                Manor Road School Tree Planting

Last year's MYPs receive their certificates from County Councillor Mark Perks, cabinet member for young people. Activateart - Skelmersdale              Buckshaw Youth Band

Mark joined young people taking part in the Activate Arts course being run at Skelmersdale College.CC Mark Perks went along to meet Buckshaw Youth Band who received a £ 300 grant from him through the Lancashire County Council Local Grant scheme.

Furniture Matters - Lancaster, Snooker Event - Penwortham

Alison, Mark and Stephen at Furniture Matters - Lancaster  Mark joined Steve Davies and young people from Kingsfold, Penwortham at the launch of the 6 week snooker programme being held at Penwortham Community Centre.

The Buckshaw Youth Band Carol Service and Christmas Tree Lights Switch On   Mark visited the The Bridge in Chorley  Mark and Louise McIntyre owner of Astley Village Nursery   

Opening of Euxton Library  -  Skelmersdale Swim and Gym Sessions

Mark and Steve Davis present the snooker competition winner with his prizes. Young People from Hyndburn took part in the Young People's Service snooker event held at New Era Accrington. Mark visited Cheeky Monkeys on Kem Mill Lane, Whittle le Woods, Chorley

Twisted Label Studio - Salthill Play Area  - Local Democracy Week

Michael, Rick and Mark in the new YOF Twisted Label Studio Mark joined residents of the Salthill Outdoor Playarea project Chorley and South Ribble Young People's Local Democracy Event

Birchwood Centre -  Wheels Within Wheels - DoE Awards, Clitheroe

Mark in his role as Cabinet Member for Young People recently visited the Brichwood Centre in Skelmersdale to meet and see what the charity provides for homeless young people. Cllr Mark Perks & Cllr George Askew attended the charity Wheels within Wheels to see how it delivers successful programmes to young people from the Pendle area. 150 young people from across Ribble Valley and Hyndburn received their Duke of Edinburgh Awards

NEW : Friday evening 5 a side session 8pm to 9pm for 12 to 17 year olds. Community coaching sessions are held every Saturday at Buckshaw Village astro pitch 9.30 to 11 am .
