Help Direct - Safe Trader Scheme in partnership with Lancashire County Council Trading Standards
Help Direct's Safe Trader Scheme is funded by Lancashire County Council and managed by Lancashire Trading Standards Service. The service aims to help citizens of Lancashire find a reliable trader, as well as supporting local businesses.
All members of the Safe Trader Scheme have met minimum requirements, set out by the Trading Standards Service and have all committed to adhere to a Code of Practice. Not only does this give you added peace of mind when choosing a trader, but the support of Lancashire Trading Standards Service also means that there's someone to help if things don't go to plan! I have been elected as a County Councillor for the Electoral Division of Preston North to serve the interests of all residents, regardless of political persuasion until 2013.
I am also the Leader of the Conservatives and of Lancashire County Council and we aim to provide good value for money for taxpayers, investing more money in frontline services and working more closely with partner organisations as major priorities.
"We are one organisation and we have one purpose – that's to serve the people of Lancashire.
One of our main priorities will be to invest in frontline services, particularly those affecting vulnerable people such as elderly and disabled people.
We will also be looking to improve the way we deliver services based around the three Es – efficiency, effectiveness and economy. By doing this we will provide better value for money for taxpayers.
Close partnership working is also a key part of our plans. We deliver many services jointly with district councils and other agencies and we want to develop good relationships so we can all work together to improve local people's quality of life."
