I have been elected as a County Councillor for the Electoral Division of Preston North to serve the interests of all residents, regardless of political persuasion until 2013.
I am also the Leader of the Conservatives and of Lancashire County Council and we aim to provide good value for money for taxpayers, investing more money in frontline services and working more closely with partner organisations as major priorities.
"We are one organisation and we have one purpose – that's to serve the people of Lancashire.
One of our main priorities will be to invest in frontline services, particularly those affecting vulnerable people such as elderly and disabled people.
We will also be looking to improve the way we deliver services based around the three Es – efficiency, effectiveness and economy. By doing this we will provide better value for money for taxpayers.
Close partnership working is also a key part of our plans. We deliver many services jointly with district councils and other agencies and we want to develop good relationships so we can all work together to improve local people's quality of life."
These are the committees and sub committees I sit on:
· Cabinet – Leader of the County Council
· Special Appointments Committee (Chair)
· Urgent Committee of the Full Council (Chair)
· Cabinet Committee for Performance Improvement
· Cabinet Committee on the Lancashire County Commercial Group
· County Council
