My News

I am a member of the Sustainable Development Overview and Scrutiny Committee which will meet on the 10th September 2008.

A NEW service to support grandparents who are the primary carers and legal guardians of children whose parents are battling drug and alcohol misuse has been launched in West Lancashire.

LANCASHIRE County Council has appointed Age Concern Lancashire to develop and provide the new locally-based Help Direct Gateway community support service in West Lancashire.

A micro-finance pilot is already helping entrepreneurs achieve their goals. The pilot aims to offer a simple solution to entrepreneurs looking for finance up to £5,000.

A GOVERNMENT grant of over £7million has been approved to develop a £20m Extra Care housing scheme and Well-being Centre for older people in Ormskirk, West Lancashire.

A SCHEME which has awarded thousands to groups in West Lancashire over the last year is calling for fresh applications.

ADULTS with learning disabilities from Whiteledge Day centre in Skelmersdale will be celebrating the grand opening of an innovative 'Multi Sensory Environment' room at an open day on Tuesday 16 June.

LANCASHIRE County Council has joined force with Central Lancashire PCT, West Lancashire District Council and the voluntary sector in efforts to secure Government funding to develop a £20m Extra Care Housing scheme and Well-being centre for older people in Ormskirk, West Lancashire.

A host of local events will be taking place across West Lancashire to celebrate this year's national Carers Week which runs from 9 – 15 June.

LANCASHIRE County Council Adult Learning will be hosting a series of free taster courses and events at local venues across West Lancashire as part of Adult Learners Week, which takes place from 17-23 May.

LOCAL residents aged 55 and over across West Lancashire are being invited to have greater say in how local services are shaped and provided through the creation of a multi-agency partnership board.

Young people in Skelmersdale are benefiting from Lancashire’s Grants For Growth scheme which has enabled the Crisis Centre in the town to employ a worker to help co-ordinate training.

A thriving faith group based at St John’s Church in Burscough is helping people find ways of helping others through volunteering.
