Welcome from County Councillor Albert Thornton

Bare Lane Level Crossing, Morecambe

I have been elected as a County Councillor for the Electoral Division of Morecambe South to serve the interests of all residents, regardless of political persuasion. I am, however, a member of a political party and take an active interest in a number of national and local campaigns. It would not be appropriate for me to use this website to promote these campaigns though you can visit related external websites by selecting some of the links to be found on this site.

I am available to take up your calls on either 01524-853635 or by clicking on Contact Me on the menu on the left hand side of the screen. Although I cannot guarantee to be successful in every case and I do not make any promise other than that I will fight like a monkey in a dustbin to secure a favourable result.

One of my principle interests is consumer protection and I can readily get an answer to most problems that may arise. Alternatively you can click on the link to the Trading Standards Office Website in My Politics on the menu.

These are the committees and sub committees I sit on:

  • Commons and Town Greens Sub-Committee (Chair)
  • County Council
  • Standards
  • Regulatory
