Lancashire County Council has three Champions who deal with specific issues.
I am the The Champion for Parishes and will assist the Leader of the County Council and appropriate Portfolio Holders by advising on ways to sustain and improve effective working relationships between the County Council and Parish and Town Councils in Lancashire.
County Councillor Dorothy Westell is The Champion for Older People and my role is to assist the Leader of the County Council and appropriate Portfolio Holders by advising on service issues which support and encourage active, independent and healthy lives for the older people of lancashire and to raise the profile of older people and their needs in the development of policy across Directorates.
County Councillor Peter Wilson is The Champion for Young People into Work and Training and will assist the Leader of the County Council and appropriate Portfolio Holders on efforts across Directoraters to provide high quality employment opportunities and apprenticeships for young people and to encourage external organisations to do likewise.
