Welcome to my website

Welcome to my personal section of the Councillor.Info website. The Conservative councillor for Milton Lilbourne, I have held my seat since May 2003. There are 5 parish councils in my ward which spans one of the largest areas of Kennet. My primary interest is the efficient economic sustainable development of the Kennet area.

In Council, I am a Member of the Overview and Scrutiny Management Board, and regularly sit on sub-committees which scrutinise the agendas and efficient running of various parts of the Council. Separately, I am the Chairman of the very successful Marlborough Community Partnership (MCP), a charity set up with 3 other trustees to benefit the local community in Marlborough and specifically underprivileged children. It is responsible for providing the charity umbrella for other Marlborough events like the Carnival. I was separately the Chairman of the Marlborough Spirit of Christmas for just over 2 years.

I have provided a more detailed background about myself in the Personal Profile section where I detail my career from RAF pilot, to owning and running my own business in the Pewsey area. I hope to bring some of my experiences and expertise to bear at Kennet.

I am keen to exchange views with residents and hope that you will use the 'Contact me' facility to bring to my attention issues which concern you. I am regularly available on 01225 436111. My work telephone number is 01672 569111 during the day, where you can leave a message for me to contact you back as I am often in meetings.

Alternatively, if you live in the Milton Lilbourne ward, click on the following email address and you can send me an enquiry, mailto:james.caldwell@kennet.gov.uk. I would only ask you to identify yourself and provide a valid return address.
