I was returned to the Kennet Council for the first time in 1991.  Since then, the Electoral Commission has adjusted the Ward Boundaries so that I currently serve the residents living in the Parishes listed above.

In 2005,  I was honoured also to be re-elected to serve a much wider electorate on the County Council..  This enables me to provide you all with a single voice in sorting out any problems or concerns that may arise in your village communities over the services supplied by either of the local Authorities.

However, in 2007 the County voted to apply to the Government to subsume the Districts as independent authorities and form a single Unitary Authority - a move which I strongly opposed, but which the Government has now secured the necessary Parliamentary approval from both Houses of Parliament for this unwanted reorganisation to proceed.

During this last 12 months in the life of Kennet, I shall be working at County Hall, as the Chairman of the Joint Overview & Scrutiny Transition Board, to do my utmost to secure the quality of service provision in the new Authority that all the communities have been receiving from the District Councils in recent years.
