Welcome to my website where you can read a little about me and how to contact me. My story is a simple one. I was born and educated in the West Midlands where I married an excellent (most of the time!) wife in 1988, fathered an excellent (most of the time!) son and travelled the world before settling in St Leonards in 2001. I am a teacher and lecturer of mathematics, a Chartered Mathematician, Chartered Scientist and a graduate member of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. My wife, Suzanne, is a nursing professional and has worked in just about every nursing role there is. My son, Luke, is the Youth MP for Hastings and Rother and is also chairman of Hastings Young Persons Council (HYPC).
I am delighted to be a councillor for Silverhill and will be pleased to help residents in any way (relevant to a councillor!) that I can. I have met most of the residents of Silverhill and hope to stay in touch as regularly as possible. If you have anything you wish to discuss please feel free to write to me at the Town Hall, Queens Road, Hastings or e-mail cllr.stephen.springthorpe@hastings.gov.uk Alternatively, I can be contacted on 01424 852679.
I am currently following up on some of the issues of which I have been made aware in the ward and I will soon be scheduling surgeries, details of which will be posted in the relevant section of this website. If you have any problems I hope to see you at one of my surgeries - if you don't have any problems, just come and say hello! If you have any news items of events - good or bad - in Silverhill, please let me know.
I am also involved with the HYPC and hope to support the many good young people in our town in any way I can.
