Welcome to my website

Welcome to my web page. I am Councillor John Wilson, Conservative Councillor for Ashdown Ward on Hastings Borough Council.

Ashdown Ward is in the North West of Hastings Borough on the way to Telham and Battle.

I have been a councillor since 1998 and during those years, I have taken an interest in planning issues, health provision and education. I am a governor of The Grove School - an amazing school that serves Ashdown Ward and other areas in Hastings.

I am proud to say that it has enjoyed exceptional exam results in 2009, and it always gives me pleasure to congratulate the staff and pupils for their exceptional hard work.

I am now retired after 42 years working in the electricity supply industry, and my council work often takes up at least half of a normal working week for me.In my spare time, I am a member of East Sussex Fuchsia and Pelargonium (Geraniums) Society, growing these flowers to exhibition standard.

I enjoy travel and for my 40th wedding anniversary, my wife and I toured China.

I can be contacted on 01424 850076 (answer phone) at any time . Please leave a message and phone number and I will get back to you.
