Gosport Borough Council, Lee East Ward
Councillor Graham Burgess

Welcome to my website

I have lived in Lee on the Solent for over 30 years  I moved here with my family whilst I was serving in the Royal Navy. My children went to the local schools and still live in Lee on the Solent.

Elected as a Councillor in May 1998 to represent Lee on the Solent. I have served on most of the Service Boards at Gosport Borough Council. I have served as Chairman of the Housing Board on two occaisions.

It was an  honour to be Mayor of Gosport in 2005/6 when I represented the Borough of Gosport at many wide and varied events which culminated in being presented to Her Majesty the Queen during the Trafalgar 200 celebrations.

I am employed by the Ministry of Defence and manage a large department in Portsmouth Dockyard. Prior to that I served 24 years in the Royal Navy both above and below the waves.

Lee on the Solent is a special place to me and my family, as it is to most residents in Lee. Everyone seems to take an interest in the community trying to improve it.

Broom Way Refuge
I have asked if it is possible to put the proposed refuge (crossing point) adjacent to the emergency vehicle entrance to the recent small estate built on the old Daedalus site. This will allow children who use this point to enter and leave the estate to cross in safety. It is hoped a decision will be made shortly by Hampshire County Council.
