Tenants in Gosport will continue to get urgent housing repairs after a new company agreed to take on the council's home maintenance works.
Construction and regeneration group Lovell has bought the contract for the work from the administrators of Connaught Construction.
Last week Connaught Construction, which had been responsible for repairs and improvements to 3,200 homes in Gosport for the last 11 years, ceased trading after falling into administration.
At the weekend Lovell, part of construction and regeneration group Morgan Sindall, agreed a deal with Connaught's administrators to acquire the majority of its ongoing contracts.
Cllr Mark Hook, leader of the council, said: 'The administrators have sold the contracts and that's good news. The service will be maintained. It will be a seamless transition between Connaught and Lovell. However we did put a lot of work in to make sure we would be ready if this didn't happen. We had been speaking to sub-contractors we have used in the past, so we would have been in a position to cope'.
'But we are thankful there will now be a seamless change after Lovell stepped in.'
Lovell will take over and deliver the contracts allowing essential maintenance services to continue with minimum disruption.
