Gosport Borough Council, Bridgemary North Ward
Councillor Dennis Wright J.P.

Many residents contact me concerning their housing problems caused mainly by homelessness or overcrowding. Gosport had over 7,000 units of accomodation, but since the 'right to buy' this has now reduced to around 3,000. Unfortunately this means that the waiting time for council re-housing grows longer. There are currently 3,700 households on the waiting list. A number of Housing Associations operate within the Borough and offer an alternative to Council housing.
