Welcome to my website

I was elected to Lancashire County Council to represent residents in Rossendale South in June 2009. Rossendale South covers Greenfield Ward in Haslingden, Longholme Ward in Rawtenstall and Eden Ward (Irwell Vale, Edenfield, Turn, Stubbins, Strongstry and Chatterton). I am also a Rossendale Borough Councillor representing Eden Ward.

I have lived in Eden Ward all my life, being born and bred in Chatterton before moving to Stubbins when first married and I now live in Edenfield.

I have always had an interest in politics, especially at a local level. I am actively involved with many local organisations including PACT (Police and Community Together), CECAG (Central Edenfield Community Action Group), EVRA (Edenfield Village Residents Association) and EDCA (Edenfield and District Community Association). I am also a Governor at Edenfield Church of England Primary School. I support Irwell Vale Residents Association, attend Quarry Review meetings to help limit the impact of the local quarry on residents of Turn village and I helped establish Stubbins Residents Association with the help of some wonderful people from that village.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you think I may be able to help you, you can contact me by phone 01706 825927, mobile phone 07817 413862, e-mail darryl.smith@lancashire.gov.uk or write to me at County Hall.

I look forward to hearing from you.
