I will be using this site to keep you informed about my work, and to provide you with information about developments at Derry City Council.
I was elected in May 2005,when I was extremely proud to top the poll in my first election, and have since been very active both in the various committees and external bodies I sit on and,most importantly,on the ground-helping constituents deal with various day-to-day issues.
I currently sit on the Development,Policy & Resources,Planning and Regional Services Committees within Council. I have previously been Chairman of the Planning Committee and Policy & Resources Committee.
Externally,I sit on the Western Health & Social Services Council;Western Education and Library Board;Derry Visitor and Convention Bureau and participate in several other Community-based fora.
I am the local SDLP spokesperson for Health and an Ghaeilge.
My personal interests include soccer-I play for the mighty Templemore in the City Astro League,GAA and table quizzes.I have a son,Luke,6,who accounts for the rest of whatever spare time I get!
