I am alarmed and disgusted at what has been happening in the Heights area of...

2/10/2008 -  Graffiti and Flags in Kilrea
Once again Kilrea has been the victim of a graffiti mob. The PSNI station has been dobbed with ‘I.R.A’. The addition of a starry plough flag, commonly used by the INLA, is now flying along side the tricolor at the bottom of Coleraine Street and another tricolor flies from the telephone mast at the end of the Blackrock Road.

2/10/2008 -  FUEL PRICE DIFFERENCE
I am finding it difficult to comprehend the difference a few miles can make to the price of fuel. Even in my own town there has been as much as 5p a litre difference from one end of the town to the other and then just a few miles into Kilrea we have different prices again.

“I’m disappointed to hear the Irish Government has been led up the garden path by a targeted internet campaign that has originated from websites that express support for dissident Irish republican terrorists and those responsible for the Omagh bombing.

I have been informed of yet another family who have been intimidated to the extent that they have had to move out. The family, who apparently have 5 children, have felt it necessary to pack up and leave for the safety of their young children.

I welcome the recent decision by Road Service to erect bus shelters at the Strand Road area in the Waterside of Coleraine.

I believe questions have to be asked of the current chairman of the Coleraine District Policing Partnership, the SDLP’s Mr. John Dallat. Yet again he was absent from the last public meeting held last week in Garvagh.

2/10/2008 -  LEONARD’S STATEMENT
I would like to know what effort Mr. Leonard has been putting in to solving the problems in the Heights. He mentions Sinn Fein will continue its work but what has he done?

15/8/2008 -  Heights 'Out of Control'
Police have lost control of the Heights

15/8/2008 -  60 + SMART PASS
The new ‘smart pass’ free bus and rail travel pass is coming into operation from 1st October 2008 which now means that 60 – 64 year olds will be entitled to free, unlimited transport on Translink bus and rail services cross Northern Ireland.

I am bitterly disappointed with the reckless comments recently made by Billy Leonard about Torrens Knight. I believe that Leonard is trying to raise the ante as the marching season draws to a close.

Yet again the Somerset area of the Heights has been attacked with paint.

For the second time in as many weeks the picnic tables at Garvagh Forest have been vandalized.

I have written to the Chief Superintendent this week after it was brought to my attention by concerned constituents that it took the PSNI approximately one hour and twenty minutes to respond to an emergency call.

3/7/2008 -  Graffiti in Heights
I have been informed again by several residents of fresh graffiti appearing after the Somme parade in The Heights on Tuesday night. This time slogans have been emblazoned across the middle of the road as well as various other places.

3/7/2008 -  11th NIGHT BONFIRES
Once again we have reached the tine of year for the annual 11th night bonfires and I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone who may be organizing or participating to be mindful of their safety and the safety of others and the effects on the environment.

Garvagh 01/07/08 remembrance parade

The roots of this squadron can be traced back as far as 1937.

I have been contacted by a very distraught and upset resident whose home was attacked on Sunday while she was out.

I welcome the new police initiatives that are being rolled out in the Coleraine area over the summer months.

Mary McAleese, President of Ireland, came to Kilrea last week and officially opened Kilrea G. A. C.

24/6/2008 -  GRAFFITI IN HEIGHTS
I welcome the ‘clean up’ operation taking place this morning in Pates Lane.

I welcome the erection of CCTV cameras in Garvagh and Kilrea.

24/6/2008 -  Cannabis Factory in Garvagh
I would like to thank the Police for the excellent job!
